“Yumi-transformer, Life Changing Program 2020-2021- A housewife peeling potatoes and carrots”

  Due to the coronavirus epidemic a long and severe lockdown took place in Italy. During these two months of isolation, Yumi became interested in and practiced a self-improvement training system called “Life-Changing Program” which is introduced by DaiGo, a young Japanese man, popular as a mentalist, writer, and YouTuber. The program is about being mindful of our brain’s energy and concentration, and the improvement of physical strength. 

Inspired by this coaching program, Yumi has devised her own performance project targeting those who have been facing uncertainty and anxiety during the pandemic. Yumi, through her performance, encourages the audience to enhance their mental and physical strength and discover the courage to live positive lives. Yumi expresses people’s everyday activities from various angles and different view points. Meditative activities, such as hand-sewing and peeling potatoes, may reflect the desire to flee from anxiety.
